About Sam
Sam (they/them) is a PACFA-registered psychotherapist who believes in the healing power of social connection. They've spent over 10 years talking to people and finding out what matters to them in broadcast media, education, and the therapy room, including ongoing work with the counselling team at ACON, NSW's largest queer advocacy org.
As a trans non-binary individual, Sam is an active part of the LGBTQIA+ community and makes inclusion a core part of their practice.

Sam likes to meet people where they are and ensure they have the safety, tools, and support required to make positive change in their lives. They're also a big believer in humour (where appropriate!) as a coping and reframing mechanism for difficult topics. Sam's approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and grounded in the body, integrating pieces of different modalities as needed.

On top of this, Sam has spent years dabbling in various creative and social areas from music and writing to tabletop roleplaying. If you want to mix up the usual talk therapy script with some other creative elements, just ask–Sam is a huge fan of incorporating people's interests and ideas into their therapeutic journey, where possible.
About the sessions
If you're a new client, please book a free 15-minute consultation call with me before booking your first session. This allows us to introduce ourselves and make sure we're a good match for each other right out the gate.

Online sessions generally take place via Google Meet. You will receive a link after booking your session.

Face-to-face sessions are held in my office at 410 Elizabeth St in the city (picture opposite). When you book your first session I'll send you instructions on how to find me. It's not too scary!

Sadly, the office isn't fully accessible–there are three small steps on the way to the therapy room. Please let me know any accessibility needs you have prior to the session e.g. sensory, mobility, or other requirements.

Our first session will probably have a little bit more paperwork and admin as we get to know each other, but once we're through that we'll be ready to dive into whatever you'd like. Remember, if you have any questions or concerns about sessions, you can bring them up with me directly in session or via email.
Finally, I'm open to working in other ways. If you'd like to introduce things like art, music, or explore alternative session structures, just ask. We can probably work something out!
