Finding safety in solidarity

Person-centred psychotherapy, somatic exploration, and help in finding creative ways to approach what's on your mind. I offer a gender-affirming space for those curious about identity and sexuality or anyone looking to live a more authentic life.

How does it work?

I provide individual therapy face-to-face on Gadigal land in Sydney city, NSW. If you prefer, I also offer sessions online via Google Meet.

I encourage you to take a free 15-minute consult call with me ahead of your first session so I can walk you through my therapy style and make sure I'm the right fit for you.

My practice is inclusive and I welcome anyone looking for support, especially those from the LGBTQIA+ and queer or neurodivergent communities. Here are some of the areas I can support you with:

Meet Sam (they/them)

Hi! I'm a queer-affirming non-binary therapist ready to dive into whatever you bring along and prepared to get curious with you around your identity, interests, and ways of relating. I'm equally happy getting messy with emotions or calmly exploring the quandaries and tough situations life may throw at you.

In sessions with me, you'll find a warm and appreciative collaborator who will hold space for the heavy stuff and help you shift it when you're ready.

Starting with a new therapist can be intimidating–head along to my About page for a rundown of the space and my background. In addition to my private practice, I also conduct ongoing counselling work with ACON, NSW's largest queer advocacy org.

What is psychotherapy?

Rock garden and natural landscape.

Psychotherapy is a form of relational counselling where the therapist and client work together to understand and explore challenging life situations and gain new insights about the client's way of being. Often, these insights arise when looking at how things show up in the therapy room between the client and therapist.

By exposing these patterns, we can work on changing the ones that aren't serving us well or accepting parts of ourselves we didn't know existed. Psychotherapy can support you in deciding what kind of person you want to be and help you work towards it in a safe environment.

Humans are built on connection. Secure, affirming relationships are an important way for us to process difficult feelings and build self-esteem, confidence, and hope for the future.
